Himalayan Mountains, 1999. Quique (Miguel Herrán), Clara (Susana Abaitua) and baby Lucas (Iván Renedo) enjoy their first vacation together in northern India. One night, sleeping in the open during a storm, they are brutally attacked by bandits. Hours later, Quique is rescued by a native and taken to a remote and isolated village in the mountains. Out of reach and unable to return to civilization, he remains there until winter arrives, bringing along with it the only way out of the village: the frozen river. The journey back home, full of dangers and in the company of several children from the village, will test everything Quique has learned during his stay in the heart of the Himalayas.
